Functional Nutrition is how we use diet and lifestyle modification to get to the root imbalances that result in dis-ease and progression. A modality that helps to not just support but to educate a patient in what is going on inside their body and how making uniquely targeted diet and lifestyle modifications will shift their terrain and help them meet their goals.
We believe strongly in science that shows we are not just our genetics; our genetics are not a life sentence one way or another. …We focus on Epigenetics.
Epigenetics are the factors that we bathe our genes in and prompt them to express negatively or positively. We DO have influence over the genetic and cellular expression that manifest as signs, symptoms and dis-ease states by modifying epigenetic factors such as nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Return to Strength is for the woman in midlife who knows something has changed—maybe her energy, sleep, strength, body composition, or confidence—but isn't sure what to do about it.
You may be tired of chasing every new diet, wellness fad, or Instagram influencer because you're not confident about what actually matters for your body.
If you're ready to stop jumping from one solution to the next and instead build the foundations that support your biology and give your body the signals it needs, Return to Strength may be the right place to start.
You don't need another extreme protocol. You need a foundation you can understand, execute, and sustain.

Return to Strength is a 90-day strength, nutrition + lifestyle experience designed to bring the fitness and functional nutrition lenses together in one place.
You’ll have:
3 full-body progressive overload workouts each week — led by Rachel and designed for home or gym.
Personalized nutrition guidance — including macros when appropriate, plus recipes and practical support focused on protein, fiber, nutrient density, and midlife health.
Daily movement — steps that keep you active without turning every day into another stressful workout.
Light, circadian rhythm + nature practices — intentional habits that support healthy rhythms, sleep, recovery, and resilience.
Education + habit tracking — so you understand why the foundations matter, not just what to do.
Coaching, accountability + community — with everything housed in one app, including the option to create a private group with friends.
The goal isn't perfection. It's consistency.
When the foundations work together—and you show up more days than you don't—you give your body the inputs and signals it needs to adapt.
Build the foundation. Understand your body. Get stronger.

As we move through midlife, maintaining and building muscle becomes increasingly important for strength, mobility, metabolic health, bone health, and body composition.
Progressive overload means gradually increasing the challenge placed on your muscles so your body has a reason to adapt and become stronger.
That's different from simply doing more workouts or exercising harder.
Inside Return to Strength, you'll complete 3 full-body strength sessions each week—3 hours or less total, with a plan designed to progressively challenge you over time.
The goal isn't to exhaust your body. It's to give it the right challenge, recover, and adapt.
-
Nutrition is about more than hitting a calorie or macro target.
In midlife, protein, fiber, nutrient density, and food quality become especially important for supporting muscle, metabolic health, satiety, digestion, and healthy aging.
This is where my functional nutrition lens adds another layer. We can use macros to support your specific goals while also asking what those macros are made of and what your food is providing your body.
You'll receive personalized guidance, recipes, and practical tools to help you understand your food choices—not just follow a plan.
The goal isn't just to change what you eat. It's to become confident in why you're eating it.

Your body is constantly receiving signals from its environment—and light is one of the most powerful.
Our modern culture has become increasingly disconnected from the natural rhythms our biology evolved with: less time outdoors, less natural light during the day, more artificial light at night, and more time indoors.
Our biology hasn't changed as quickly as our environment has.
When the signals around us don't match the signals our bodies are biologically wired to respond to, our rhythms can become harder to regulate—affecting sleep, cortisol and melatonin patterns, energy, recovery, and other daily biological processes.
Inside Return to Strength, we work to close that gap through simple, intentional practices like morning and evening light exposure, time outdoors, and nature-based movement.
The goal isn't to do more. It's to give your body better signals.

You can work with me 1:1.
If you have a diagnosis, complex health history, or specific concerns that need individualized attention, 1:1 Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Counseling is absolutely an option.
But for many women, starting with Return to Strength can be incredibly valuable. We establish the foundational inputs first—nutrition, strength, movement, sleep, light, recovery, and lifestyle—so we can clear the muddy waters and see what still needs deeper investigation.
Both paths are available. The right starting point depends on what you need.
Not sure which is right for you? Book a free Foundations Clarity Call with me and we can talk through where you are and what makes the most sense.

Your health isn't influenced only by what you eat or how you exercise. Your environment and daily rhythms are inputs too.
Modern life can expose us to signals our biology wasn't designed around—artificial light at night, chronic stress, disrupted sleep, and environmental exposures such as fragrance that can interact with hormone signaling.
Inside Return to Strength, we focus on education, not fear. You'll learn how these everyday inputs can influence your biology so you can make informed choices about what you want to change—and what you don't.
The goal isn't a perfect environment. It's understanding your inputs well enough to make better decisions for yourself.

Before we chase symptoms, we establish the basics your body relies on every day—nutrition, strength, movement, sleep, light, recovery, and environment.
These foundations influence one another, so strengthening them together can give us a clearer picture of how your body is responding.
We aren't ignoring symptoms. We're clearing the muddy waters first.
When the foundations are in place, we can better see what is improving, what still needs attention, and where deeper individualized support may be appropriate.
Build the foundations first. Then decide what comes next.

A lasting foundation takes more than a few weeks to build.
90 days gives you time to learn, practice, adapt, and build consistency with the foundations that support your body through midlife.
You may have heard that it takes 21 days to form a habit. The science is much less tidy—habit formation varies widely depending on the person, behavior, and environment. Some habits develop relatively quickly; others take months.
That's why Return isn't designed as a quick reset.
Over 90 days, you have time to progressively build strength, establish nutrition and lifestyle habits, observe how your body responds, and make adjustments along the way.
This isn't about completing a 90-day challenge and going back to your old routine.
The goal is to build skills and habits you can carry with you long after the 90 days are over.
-
Absolutely. Your goals matter.
If you want to lose body fat, gain muscle, or change your body composition, Return to Strength gives you the tools to work toward that goal through progressive strength training, personalized nutrition, and consistency.
But body composition is only one part of the picture.
The scale is a measurement—not the measurement of success.
You can weigh the same amount while looking and feeling completely different. Muscle is denser than fat, so as you build muscle and lose body fat, your body can become leaner and stronger without a dramatic change on the scale. Sometimes the scale changes significantly, too—how that looks and progresses depends on the individual.
We also pay attention to strength, muscle, energy, performance, recovery, confidence, and how your body is responding.
You don't have to choose between feeling healthy and changing your body. We work toward both.

The strength program is designed to work at home or in the gym. If you're training at home, you'll need a set of dumbbells appropriate for your current strength level.
Your workouts, nutrition guidance, habit tracking, education, recipes, and coaching are all housed in the app, so you can follow the program wherever you are.
The goal is to build foundations that fit into your real life—not create another reason to work around it.
-
Absolutely.
You can invite friends to create a private group inside the Return to Strength app, giving you a built-in circle for accountability, encouragement, and motivation.
You can work through the program together while still following your own nutrition goals, workouts, and habits.
Because consistency is easier when you don't feel like you're doing it alone.
Bring your people. Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork. Build your foundation together. 🌿
